Buying real estate being foreigners

The Dominican Republic lifted all restrictions for foreigners purchasing properties in the country in 1998.

Any non-resident or foreign national can purchase apartments, villas, commercial real estate, land plots (except for specially protected areas and national parks). You need to have an ID card and an international passport.

We recommend you to buy property in such areas as Punta Cana, Bavaro, Cap Cana, Casa de Campo.

Here you will find a lot of facilities and amenities: wonderful beaches, the best schools and universities of the country, international airports, marinas, high level of privacy and safety.

The above – mentioned areas are large – sized gated communities with a big choice of accommodation for purchasing or renting. Here you will find the most beautiful award-winning white sand beaches in the world where only residents can stay and use five-star hotels amenities and facilities.

Properties not situated on the first line of the beach cost approximately $1000 per square meter whereas properties situated on the first line of the beach cost 3000$ per sq meter. In this case, a magnificent ocean view and direct access to the beach are guaranteed. However, be aware of high humidity.

Buying a home does not provide you with an immediate DR residency, but it is a favorable factor. The Dominican Republic is one of the countries in the world which has the simplest requirements for getting residence permit.

It will be difficult for you to find a great property without help of an expert who understands the local real estate market, its specifics and laws.
